There is no paid tier and nobody is selling you anything — I get nothing for saying this and there are no affiliate links anywhere on this page.
LastSpin does not block anything, and I'm not going to pretend it's an alternative. Blocking buys you friction, and friction buys you minutes. What it can't do is sit with you while those minutes pass, or answer the argument in your head that the block was an overreaction. That part is the whole reason this exists.
Questions
The things I'd want to ask.
Is this anonymous?
Yes. There's no real name, no phone number, no contacts, no social feed and nothing public. If you join the list I have your email address and nothing else, and it's stored with one provider that sends the mail. Your journal and your history live on your device. Nobody who knows you will find out from LastSpin.
What happens if I relapse?
You keep your account, your history and your money-and-hours total. The streak restarts because that's what a streak is, but nothing else resets and nothing is deleted. Relapse is part of how this goes for almost everyone — an app that punishes you for it is an app you delete on the worst night of your year, which is exactly when you need it open.
Does this replace therapy?
No. LastSpin is not treatment, not a medical service and not a substitute for professional help. It's the thing that's with you between appointments, or at the hour when there is no appointment. If you're in crisis or you're thinking about hurting yourself, contact a local helpline or emergency service — that's not something an app should be handling.
Why lifetime instead of a subscription?
Because a monthly charge for a recovery app is a bad idea. It makes the money you send me depend on you still being unwell, and it gives me a reason to keep you coming back rather than get you to the point where you don't need it. Founding access is paid once and stays yours whatever the pricing becomes later.
When will the app be ready?
The free tools are the first release and I'm aiming for them within a few months; the paid program follows after that. I'm not putting a fake date on it. Founding members get access first and get told what's happening as it's built, including when it slips.
